What to know before you hire
.Base is Grand Hirafu's own rental shop, inside the .Base Ski Center beside the Ace Gondola. The resort's second counter is the Gondola Shop on the 2nd floor of the Mountain Center Annex. Between them they stock skis, snowboards, gloves, goggles and helmets, including premium gear for expert riders, and you can rent skis or a board on their own if you have brought your own boots.
If you sleep near the resort and rent from Grand Hirafu, they will store your skis or board overnight so you can go straight to après without carrying gear. The 2026–27 resort season is published as 28 November 2026 to 5 May 2027, with night skiing from 12 December 2026 to 22 March 2027 (both tentative). Grand Hirafu is advertising a 20% early-bird discount on 2026–27 rentals.
