First trip, no car, mixed groups. The village runs straight up the hill under Grand Hirafu, so lifts, rental shops, bars and most of Niseko's restaurants sit on one slope.
- Lifts and buses
- Walk to the Ace Gondola or King Gondola from much of the village. The free Hirafu loop bus ran 1 Dec – 31 Mar last season, and the Hirafu Welcome Center is where the airport buses and the NISEKO UNITED shuttle stop.
- After dark
- The busiest after-dark scene in Niseko: izakaya, sushi, steak, ramen and late bars on foot. Night skiing at Grand Hirafu runs 16:00–19:00 from 12 Dec to 22 Mar. Book dinner ahead in peak weeks.
- Budget
- The widest choice of lodging in Niseko. Places closest to the gondolas fill first in peak weeks, so check the walk before you book.
- Eat nearby
- Bang Bang, The Barn, Tozanken, Fuji Sushi, Niseko Pizza, Half Note live music bar, Izakaya JAM, Koko Bakery. Most of the 58 places in the eat guide are in Hirafu

Best when You will not drive and want to walk to the lift and to dinner.
Skip when You want quiet nights, or slope-side calm at Christmas and New Year.
