What to know before you hire
Sports Rent Ciao rents complete ski and snowboard sets from the ground floor of the Nook Annupuri center house, right on the snow at Niseko Annupuri. The address is 485 Niseko, Niseko-cho. Reservations are online only; the shop does not take bookings by phone, and the phone line is for winter-season enquiries.
Published hours are 8:30 am to 6 pm during the night-skiing period and 8:30 am to 4 pm outside it. Children from junior high school age (over 12) pay the adult rate.
There is a small shop beside the rental corner selling goggles (from ¥4,400) and gloves (from ¥2,200), which helps if you arrive missing either. JR Niseko Station is about 10 minutes away by local bus or taxi, and the drive from Sapporo or New Chitose Airport is about 2 hours.
Ciao makes most sense if Annupuri is your home hill. You walk from the rental counter to the lifts, and Annupuri links over the top with Niseko Village. If you sleep in Hirafu or Hanazono and want gear delivered to the base you ride from, a Hirafu shop with free lodging pickup is less hassle.
